Lymm Wedding – Nicola & Anthony

The first I knew about this wedding was when my daughter came home from school and gabbled excitedly that I was to speak to the smiley lady at school about her wedding photography. Now, Megan attends an infant school with lots of smiley ladies so I wasn’t really sure how to proceed..

Luckily, Nicola cornered me one day and it turns out she was the smiley lady in question. Nic and Ant have been together a long time, have two beautiful daughters Caitlin and Keira and had decided to tie the knot at St Winifried’s Church in Lymm, followed by a reception at the Lymm Golf Club.

The biggest worry when I met them to finalise details a couple of days before was the weather – we’d had several weeks of glorious sunshine but the week preceeding had been more than a little wet. Expectations were duly lowered to crossing fingers for a dry day – no matter if there were clouds, or it was cold, dry would be good enough. I promised to look out the white umbrellas just in case…. Our expectations were met – nearly! It stayed dry until well after the wedding reception was underway, by which time it really didn’t seem to matter any more.

Sun or no sun, it was a beautiful day. Caitlin and Keira obviously so excited about their mum and dad getting married and being involved in everything along the way including the bidding prayers during the service. Just the best kind of wedding, lots of emotion, love, laughter and fun.

Big thanks to Lindsay Panting for some of these pictures x

What a fun day – love the cake toppers!

Warrington Wedding Photography: Jodi & Alan, Married!

Jodi’s enquiry was the first on my email for 2011 – Easter Saturday, St Georges Day. She managed to leave it until the day before to let me know that she would be travelling to the ceremony in an old Routemaster Bus – Jodi – these are things that photographers like to salivate over for MONTHS!

At that meeting I met Jade, Jodi’s 9 year old daughter and knew immediately she would be my ally! Very confident, super friendly she promised to be my assistant for the day. She first asked for a fee of £500 but was fairly easily persuaded to do the job for an Easter Egg – if only all business transactions were so easy!

I met the (very nervous!) bridal party at The Village Hotel in Warrington where the bus was waiting for us. The ceremony and reception took place at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, home of the Warrington Wolves. As far as I’m aware, this was only the second wedding to take place there although it has long been a venue for Wedding Breakfasts. The team were really welcoming and super efficient. AND, the food smelled fabulous!

It was a very simple, but very emotional service, followed by a trip on to the pitch by Bride and Groom – what we didn’t realise was that the lines on the pitch had literally just been painted – one bride, one pair of white feet!

Jodi and Alan – thank you for inviting me to be part of your day – I really enjoyed it and wish you all the very best in your marriage. Biggest thanks of all though must go to Jade – thank you! You were a superstar and if you ever want to help me out again, just give me a call!

Love the shot of the bride against the blue in particular – a fab set!

Newborn Portrait Photography – Eric Heazlewood

It’s amazing what a difference a few months make. It feels like a long time since my youngest was teeny tiny and looking at her now I can hardly believe that was ever the case.

In 2008 I did my first every wedding photography for Claire and Leigh - about a year later, along came Heidi Rose who was followed a speedy year and a half later by Eric. Here he is only 10 days old.

So last week, it was time to visit again and see him a bouncing, healthy four months old. Gorgeous boy:)

Those eyes! Lovely portraits!

It’s February – how did that happen?!

So that’s one of my new year resolutions out of the window then. I promised myself that I would blog at least once a week. Hmmm, there are no excuses – once you get out of the habit, time just rumbles on and here we are in February.

Lots of exciting things happening though – plenty of wedding enquiries and bookings and for local weddings in Warrington, Lymm and further afield but still in Cheshire – I’ve covered a lot of miles in the last 12 months for my wedding photography, from the North East down to the Forest of Dean but very little on home turf so I’m really excited about that.

Birthday parties, christenings and portrait sessions are also coming in – remember, your portrait sessions are exactly as you want them to be – informal or more traditional; natural light, ‘environmental’ shots or studio portraits; just you, or the whole family. Portrait sessions are FUN! I want to capture you and yours doing what you do and I promise you’ll love the results – get in touch to find out more info@bridgetfrancisphotography.com

Finally, I have some trash the dress, rock the frock shoots coming up. Brides of 2010, have you considered this? You’ve spent months choosing your dress, you’ve loved wearing it on your special day. Where is it now? At the cleaners? In your Wardrobe? What are you going to do with it? Sell it? Save it for your daughter, a Christening Dress? Stop right there!! Before you do any of those things, give me a call, let’s go to the beach, into your city centre, onto the moors and spend a few hours really celebrating your dress and how fabulous you feel in it. We don’t need to ‘trash’ it if you don’t want but you can go swimming, rock climbing or fell walking in it. Go on, get your frock on and let’s have some fun!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Oh, and happy new year! – and just so that this post isn’t completely photo free, here’s a favourite family shot from Christmas time
